Awards

Inverness Festival Association own or care for 75 shields, trophies and cups. If all classes that award trophies etc are entered for, then 73 of these are awarded each year. One medal is awarded for one of the Gaelic speech classes. There are also 6 levels of certificate - Fair, Moderate, Merit, Commended, Distinction, and Outstanding. The competitive element of the Festival culminates with the prestigious Curtis Craig Competition. The winner receives the Curtis Craig Trophy; all other performers receive a commemorative medal. Up to 16 medals are awarded.

Trophies may be withheld at the discretion of the adjudicator. Persons awarded trophies are expected to arrange for and meet the cost of engraving by the authorised festival engraver and sign a letter of undertaking for its safekeeping and return. Trophies must be returned as instructed not later than 4 weeks before the start of the festival.
